Ducklings!
Ducklings have again appeared in a Southside back green. For the second year running a mother duck has raised her brood in a Southside back green, and now has 11 ducklings proudly swimming on the pond there. Click on the thumbnail for a full sized picture. I think two of the ducklings were camera shy on this occasion, but we hope to bring you updates as the weeks pass by, and the ducklings grow. In this picture they are only 3 days old. The seagulls are apparently already circling, so lets hope the neighbours can keep them off so the ducklings have a chance to grow to maturity. A great way to get the neighbours talking to each other. We'll keep you posted - watch this space!

City-wide Parks Manifesto
In response to continued pressure, mainly from Community Councils around the Meadows, and the Friends of the Meadows and Bruntsfield Links (FoMBL), the City Council has now brought out its "Parks Events Manifesto" aimed at controlling the impact of events in parks across the city. The consultation period for this document is now over, so we wait and see what the Parks Department will come up with,
Read the details on the FoMBL website and see what you think. Tell us and tell the City Council, so we can get this policy right.
See our pictures of what happened on the Meadows in 2008 Don't let this happen again!
